Ally And The 1000 Followers!

Malaysia – Last week, Write Ally! Write! has reached a new milestone. The blog now have more than 1000 followers. It was a good news for the author, Ally L. Mare and he is extremely excited about the achievement.

“I am so excited and happy! I want to say thank you to my lovely friends and followers for the support,” said Ally when he was interviewed and asked how he feels about the achievement.

Write Ally! Write! is a blog that shares the poetry works of Ally L. Mare. Occasionally, Ally would include other segments such as ‘Ally’s Thought’ which focused on his personal opinion in movies and other issues, and his popular segment ‘Movies In Six Words’ is a six words story describing a movie. Ally shared posts from other bloggers as well.

Other than being happy for his WordPress blog achievement, he also mentioned that he also started to work again last week. “I was accepted to join one of the biggest Investment Bank in Malaysia. It was the top IB bank in 2014 too. I will be there for six months and will definitely use this opportunity well.”

Ally also apologized in advance for the future delay that will happen for his posts. He mentioned that his work place is quite far from his home, that will take a lot of his time.

As for his future plan for the blog, he wants to achieve the next milestone but steadily maintaining his current performance. He teased that by the end of NaPoWriMo, he might release another book. Other than his blog, Ally did mentioned about a Youtube channel project with a friend of his. Not much was mentioned though.

Hi everyone! How is your weekend?

Thank you for the amazing support and encouragement! I will never achieve this without my fellow friends and followers. You guys helped me to achieve my dream, share my poems to the whole world! You name it, US, UK, India, Australia, Philippine, Hong Kong, Canada, Indonesia, the European countries and my own country Malaysia.

Before I end this post, let me share something.

A poet without readers is a book that lost its purpose, but a poet with readers is a chain to connect others.

That’s all for now! I hope that you will keep on supporting me! Have a great day, everyone!

[TAG] The Blue Sky Tag #2

Hi lovely fellows and friends!

How was your day? Great I hope!

I was nominated by Coffee In Style for The Blue Sky Tag challenge! This is my second challenge. You can check my first challenge here.

Thank you for the tag Coffee In Style!

1.Thank the person who tagged you
2.Answer their 11 questions
3.Tag 11 people
4.Give them 11 questions to answer

What inspire you to blog?
– I was inspired when I started to focus on writing again. Poetry mainly. Instead of just writing them in my book, I wanted to share it with the whole world. My current guess, I still shared less than 1% of the world population.

How do you get ideas for blogging?
– Just about anything actually. From watching a movie, listening to songs, reading others, eating cake and more.

How do you define poetry?
– For me, poetry is a voice. A voice that wanted to be share with others. Do you agree?

Do you consider poetry as a form of art?
– Of course, poetry and other literature works are the art of words. Poetic is artistic in a sense.

How often do you read posts in Reader on Word Press?
– Daily. I read them daily. In the morning, afternoon and evening.

Do you agree that writing is a form of healing?
– I agree. Sometimes we can’t express ourselves fully. If we are angry, we might just snapped and smash something in front of us. However, when we write them, we tend express it in a different form. Once, you are done with the final period. Tell me, isn’t that the most satisfying feeling?

Does writing promotes mental relaxation for you?
– Sometime yes and sometimes no. I can be drained sometimes especially when I’m doing prompts.

Have you tried writing for kids?
– I never really think about it.

Who is your favorite author?
– Jane Austen. Just because I really love her books.

Who is your favorite poet?
– Emily Dickinson. I like her choice of words, her forms, her voice in her poems and themes. Some or if not most of my poems influenced by her works.

Any favorite poems?
– I’m nobody! Who are you? by Emily Dickinson.

  1. What was the last book you read?
  2. What are you trying to achieve with your blog?
  3. Do you think you are someone with a sense of humor?
  4. Imagine 10 years ago. How does that make you feel about yourself now?
  5. How would your friend describe you?
  6. Do you have hobbies that others might find unusual?
  7. Have you done anything illegal?
  8. If you ended up being a prisoner, what likely to be the reason?
  9. What most likely the thing that will get you angry?
  10. How do you handle yourself when you are angry?
  11. Best thing to eat when you are angry?

I actually drafted this post for quite some time because I’m lost on what to ask and some busy interviews in between. Pardon me for it. I hope everyone have a great day ahead! I wish you all the best.

Ally’s Novella And Where To Read Them

Hi everyone!

March 2017 is leaving and we will be welcoming April 2017 soon. In my case, less than two hours from the time this post has been published.

A quick recap about this month. It’s actually not the main point about this post, but I feel the need to share it with you all.

I’m proud to share my top post of the month!

Do check them out if you missed them earlier. That’s done for the recap.

Now the main announcement I wanted to share with you guys.

I’ve been keeping a secret from all of you. Well, some of you actually because they are my early readers and I really appreciate the feedback! You know who you are!

So what is the secret? From the title it is obviously a dead giveaway. I wrote a novella. I wrote it last year and managed to complete it by the end of 2016. After that, I’ve been doing some editing and getting feedback from my fantastic readers! I really appreciate it!

After some crazy mentally and physically exhausting editing, I’m ready to show it to the rest of the world! And of course, to my fellow readers and friends! Even so, I have not uploaded all the chapters but don’t panic because I will upload them all next month. Hopefully, it does not take a long time.

The only problem would be, I’m procrastinating or I have internet problem. I can’t give ‘not enough time’ as a reason because I’m practically have all the time I need. Even so, I tend to keep my promises.

So where to read them?

Basically, I’m using Inkitt as my platform instead of other available platform such as Wattpad. Why? Simply because, I am exposed to Inkitt first rather than Wattpad and I’m somehow grow fond of Inkitt.

You can find the link to my story here.

My Unsent Love Letters – Ally L Mare

Inkitt is also available to download in the App Store and Google Play. Just in case you don’t want to read my story, you can read stories by others. Some advice, they are very good and some of them has been published by Inkitt and last year it was listed in Top 100 in Amazon.

Well, that is all for now. I wish you guys have a great month of April! And trust me, this is not a prank.

One Year With Write Ally! Write!

Good day fellow friends!

Write Ally! Write! is officially a year old today!

At first, I had it wrong. I thought the date was supposed to be on the 14th of March because of my first post. However, it was on the 12th March which is today.

The first thing I did when I received the notification from WordPress was sitting down and stared the sky (ceiling to be precise). A year ago, everything was just an idea. The idea came after I’m getting bored of my previous job and the urge to write more.

I have other blogs at that time that focused on translating service, sharing social media news and a story blog in Bahasa Malaysia (is still there and I don’t want to delete it because I wrote a lot!).

Then, I decided to focus on poetry. As I am completing this sentence, I remembered that I still have another blog dated in 2009. Most of my freaking posts are still there! I am now totally embarrassed. However! I have this idea of bringing some of the poems I wrote back then in here (but maybe it is best to leave it there. I wrote lengthy poems too).

Some quick info:-

My first post: It is morning and bright
My first follower (besides myself): (Somehow protected)
My first comment:
My current followers: 855
My total posts: 494
My total views: 16846
My total visitors: 6290

I slowed down on blogging starting from May 2016. I do not want to remember how I waste my time for five months. I started being active again in November. The number after that constantly rising and get me more than 1000 visitors monthly! Small to some but big for me! There are a thousand readers from across the world reading my poems! I am grateful!

Those are just numbers. Do you want to know what is more precious?

The connection we have as fellow bloggers! I able to be friends with amazing people, young and older! I get to read amazing posts a lot! I got inspired by lovely and supportive motivational posts! Not to mention the amazing awards!

Another achievement would be the self-published poetry e-books! The first one It’s All About You and the freshly released on 8th March, Ally And The Daily Prompt (I’m sure there will be book two, three and so on for this one!).

You can download it here for free:

I hope everyone enjoyed my poems and my books. I am seriously happy to share them!

However, I need help from you guys. I need feedback and dire of feedback! If you find my poems are cool, let me know! If you find my poems are lame and pathetic, let me know as well! I want to take this blog and passion to the next level! I really do!

I have two books under construction right now, one would be the ‘They Said That…’ and another one is ‘Ally’s Book of Motivation!’. I’ll share one from the latter one.

“If you love writing, don’t find a reason to keep you away from it. Find excuses to write more.”

Ally Mare, Feb ’17

I think that is all for now! I wish all of you have a great and amazing day!

Free E-book: Ally And The Daily Prompt

Hey guys!

I just published my new poetry e-book! I did try my best to make it neat as possible compared  to the previous one. I believe I did some improvement except that pesky formatting on the epub version. Still, I’m proud to say… I did quite well!

Some of you may still remember the tease I did before… It is not this one! This one was supposed to be my third project but… I had problems with the second project and decided to put it on hold and… Woosh! I present you this instead!

For those who enjoy my daily prompt posts, I made things easier! I have compiled them in one book so you can read them easier! It’s free so don’t wait!

Ally And The Daily Prompt (2017)

Exploring the possibilities through different approach and angles in completing the daily prompt. With 57 prompts come 57 poems compiled in this book, expect to find romance, humor, silliness, craziness, stupidity and brutality inside.

Download it for FREE!

If you find it enjoyable, help me by sharing it with everyone else! I would appreciate it a lot! I hope everyone have a nice and amazing day! Don’t forget to join me on my One Litre of Tears marathon on 9th March! Another six hours and I’ll be doing some live twitting in Twitter! Follow me at Twitter!

Another Sunshine For Me!

Hi everyone,

Welcome to the month of March! Any good plan coming?

I was nominated by the wonderful Nurul Afifah @ Awesomeness. She has varieties of entries and you can visit her site dedicated for poetry here!

Her Questions:

1. Introduce yourself as if you really want me to know you and you know I wouldn’t judge even if you say your secret crush is Hitler
Just introduce yourself in five words.
– A currently jobless guy with two years experience as Corporate Service Officer in a rising property development company and two years experience as a Content Editor in the biggest IT company in South East Asia. Now, a blogger, a writer and a poet. That is my pitch whenever I apply for a job at Jobstreet.

2. If you never have to work and never have to worry about money anymore, what will you do?
– Somehow this is my current situation except for the money. I will most likely blog more, write more, eat more, cook more, series binge-ing more, movies everyday and travel of course.

3. What is the craziest thing you have ever done?
– Not really sure on the craziest thing because I usually the one that followed the rules. Maybe it was this one time when I hang out with my friends from the evening and came home at dawn and straight to work without sleeping. It was hell and I  am not proud of it.

4. Favourite movie of all time and why so?
– My favorite movie? Out of all the movies I watched? This is hard. I’ll approach this by genre and I’d go for romance. The Notebook is my favorite.

5. Share with me your quirky-est nickname and how did you get that?
– My quirkiest nickname would be Mr. Lifeless. I got it when I was in college and because of my unenthusiastic reading and expression in class, my lecturer dubbed me with that nickname. Soon, the whole class has their own nickname.

6. What is your greatest weakness?
– My greatest weakness would be my own personality. I am a ISFJ-A which most likely too altruistic and can be quite conventional sometimes.

7. What is your greatest strength?
– My greatest strength as stated would be super supportive, reliable and patient. The personality test was a nail on so I’d go with that.

8. What is your best childhood memory?
– My best childhood memory would be getting my first video game console. It was silly how I  get  it actually. Haha.

9. If you can only keep five possessions, what would that be?
– Actually, I’m not sure what I want to keep. Can good family be considered as possessions?

10. What is the biggest character turn-off for you?
– Toxic character. I had my experience and it is definitely something not worth remembering.

11. If you could have any superpower, what power would it be and why? – it must be skills, not something like time-travelling or immortality.
– That would be a fast runner like Quicksilver in X-Men.

I hope everyone will have a good weekend! Until next time!

Hi 9th March! This is Ally!

Hi everyone!

March finally came knocking on our door and wanting some attention. How do you guys usually welcomed March?

After all these years, March has been different for me. I have a tradition in March. A tradition that I believed, I have shared last year in this blog.

It is all started in… Geez, I can’t remember which year to be exact… It was 2011 if I’m not mistaken. At 9th March 2011, I began a tradition for myself that I would be running a marathon on watching One Litre Of Tears the tv series. 11 hours of marathon from episode 1 to episode 11. I do not include the special movie came afterward. I’m talking about the original tv series. After that, I’ve been doing this ever since.

If you guys are wondering why I did this marathon and what the tv series is all about. You can find the post here.

Why Would I Do This Every Year?

I’m beginning my countdown this year by accompanying each day with a poem dedicated to the tv series. It will be under separate title.

Have you guys watched this tv series? Will you guys be joining me?
