via Description of “If the time still goes around” — Yuta Tanaka

I bought two of his albums and the music are fantastic! For me, the first album called From The Eternity, filled with playful, energetic, mysterious, calming and motivating elements. My favorite would be track number 2 and number 6. The rest are good too.

For the second album, The Love Comes From The Blues, still keeping up the same elements which for me is nice. I like the positivity and the energy in his songs. From this album, I like song number 1, number 4, number 10, number 11 and number 12.

Now with his third album, no doubt that I will be getting it soon. I’m pretty busy through the end of the month, so, I will be ‘hunting’ him next month. Haha.

If you are wondering how I knew about this talented musician, you can check my previous post here.

If you are in Malaysia and see him performing, give him a listen! You might fall in love with his music as much as I do!

This Lady Speaks Her Mind About Poetry Nowadays, I Agreed With Her

Thought Catalog Is Lang Leav’s poetry bad or good? This is a question I’ve been asked numerous times by my peers and by strangers or readers of my own poetry. My aim is not really to defend or talk about Leav. I am mainly using her as an example and representative of pop poetry, because her name…

My thoughts exactly! If you like what you read, that is enough. If you don’t like it, don’t force your opinion on others. Poetry is art and there will be opinion. Some might enjoy it, some might not. You can relate and perhaps I don’t.

For those who are not familiar Pulitzer Prize, it is an award for achievement in newspaper, magazine, online journalism, literature and musical composition in United States. It was established by provisions in the will of Joseph Pulitzer.

The date for this year Pulitzer Prize was 10th April 2017 and the winner for poetry category is Olio by Tyehimba Jess.

If you want to read more about the award and more poems from Tyehimba Jess. You can read more here.

BUSTLE

Joining the 101st class of Pulitzer Prize winners is Tyehimba Jess with his book, Olio. In two books, Jess, a writer from Detroit, has married poetry with history and music, giving voice to the formative names in Blues and folk music. His work is expansive and formal, slangy and genre-bending, the sort of poetry you can share with poetry and non-poetry readers alike. Now that you’ve ordered your copy of Olio (you’ve done that, right?), you’ll want to nerd out on the best of Jess.

Grammarly – Help or Hindrance?

I’m using Grammarly too and yes… The ignore function is there for a reason! 😀

A Writer's Path

By Julianne Q. Johnson

Grammarly is a grammar checking program for writers. There are several forms of the program, but today I’m here to talk about the plug-in for Microsoft Office. This plug-in also works for Microsoft Word, you don’t have to actually own Office to use it.

If you want to check this plug-in out, you can find it here.

I tried a version of Grammarly many years ago and was not impressed with it. At that time, it cost money, and what the program did was not especially useful. It would point out many things that were not issues, and ignore actual issues.
