Ally’s Thoughts: Brooklyn Nine Nine

Hey everyone!

First of all welcome September! I’m kinda glad August is over because it was a depressing month for me! I hope the mood will not spoil my September! One of the worst thing about August is that, I only went to the cinema once to watch The Hitman’s Bodyguard, which is pretty entertaining. Other than that, nothing much. As for September, there are few movies I set my eyes on.

Ally’s to watch September movies:

  1. Mrs. K (7th)
  2. It (7th)
  3. Kingsman: The Golden Circle (21st)
  4. The Foreigner (28th)

Also, Golden Screen Cinemas is hosting the Japanese Film Festival 2017 in their cinema. I’m not going unless I find someone who enjoys Japanese movies. Yes, I need a partner for it… and watching It too. I can’t stand horror movie but It is the reason I’m scared of clowns.

Okay, enough about my September plan. Let’s jump into the main point of the day! Brooklyn Nine Nine!

Have you been looking for a comedy to watch? Look no more! I introduce you to the Brooklyn Nine Nine! Amazing, funniest, entertaining, breathtaking and will definitely ruin your life! The series was introduced to me by a friend, Justin Chan! (Plating the name here because I love the show!)

At first, I do not think the series will affect me but I was wrong! I managed to complete all 4 seasons within two weeks! There is not an episode that fails to make me laugh. I repeat, NONE! The series is simply well crafted in making me laugh and I laughed so hard!

The series goes deep into each of their characters and the characters are well developed! It’s not just the characters, the story line is good too. The plot can be twisted but I never watch a series that the characters feel so relatable.

As usual in Ally’s Thoughts, I will highlight a point in the series. There are a lot of points to choose from actually. There is the love, career, life lesson, culture and technical stuff. However, I’m going for the life lesson.

Brooklyn Nine Nine touched a lot of life lessons! From family stuff to relationship and somehow found its way to parenting. However, I’m going to highlight the career part! Why? I am totally amazed by how dedicated they are in their works!

I’m going to drop the synopsis here:

Detective Jake Peralta, a talented and carefree cop with the best arrest record, has never had to follow the rules too closely or work very hard. That changes when Ray Holt, a man with a lot to prove, becomes the new commanding officer of Brooklyn’s 99th precinct. As Holt reminds Peralta to respect the badge, an extremely competitive colleague — Detective Amy Santiago — starts to close in on the hotshot cop’s arrest record. Other members of the precinct include Sgt. Terry Jeffords, a devoted family man, Detective Charles Boyle, a hard worker who idolizes Jake, and Rosa Diaz, a sexy-yet-intimidating detective. Civilian office manager Gina Linetti is tasked with cleaning up everyone’s mess, while somehow getting involved in everyone’s business.

The daily life in 99th is mostly on solving open cases. Some of them only took days but some took years to be solved. No matter how silly or playful Jake Peralta looks like, he always has a work mindset. Even for the other detectives.

They are willing to work overtime, on their off days and even on their holidays! They even sacrificed their time with their family. I know that they are police and that is what police should do. If I am a policeman, I might not be able to give the same motivation and dedication like they do. I might be whining about how misery it is to miss my holiday. These guys? Their life is basically, work!

Now, I am not a policeman. I only have an eight to five work. If only I can have the same dedication as they are, I might feel happy with my work. They enjoy their daily life in work, the friendship with colleagues, the openness among them and living their lives every second. I’m not trying to be ungrateful but I’m trying to find a place that is right for me.

I know it is not easy and the series do showcase the risks, conflicts, and dramas in their life but they tried their best to manage it. Be it as an individual, a friend or a family. If only my life can be as straight forward as that. There are things that get so complicated now, it stressed me out even though everything is just inside my head. Life is not that simple because life includes others.

I do hope that I find my ‘workplace’ that I can really enjoy and bond like how the 99th does. I’m staying hopeful because… I’m a hopeful soul through the thick and thin! Season 5 ended with a big cliffhanger but the new season will be here on the 26th September! I can’t wait!

One Litre of Tears: 1 Day To Go!

countdown.png

She is strong,
With all the tears,
With all the optimism,
And the will to move forward,

I always asked my self,
If I can be like her,
Strong as her,
Not giving up the next day,

You changed others,
You touched their life and heart,
You changed me,
Through One Litre of Tears.

For those who wants to join me, I’ll be starting to watch the drama 12 hours from now. Surely I will be spamming my twitter too.  If you haven’t add me on Twitter, feel free to add me!

Hi everyone!

March finally came knocking on our door and wanting some attention. How do you guys usually welcomed March?

After all these years, March has been different for me. I have a tradition in March. A tradition that I believed, I have shared last year in this blog.

It is all started in… Geez, I can’t remember which year to be exact… It was 2011 if I’m not mistaken. At 9th March 2011, I began a tradition for myself that I would be running a marathon on watching One Litre Of Tears the tv series. 11 hours of marathon from episode 1 to episode 11. I do not include the special movie came afterward. I’m talking about the original tv series. After that, I’ve been doing this ever since.

If you guys are wondering why I did this marathon and what the tv series is all about. You can find the post here.

Why Would I Do This Every Year?

I’m beginning my countdown this year by accompanying each day with a poem dedicated to the tv series. It will be under separate title.

Have you guys watched this tv series? Will you guys be joining me?

Ally’s Thought: What will happen to the future civilization on earth?

Hi everyone!

I hope you guys have a great and amazing day ahead!

Recently, I’ve been binging myself with a TV series called Vikings. I am currently at season 3.

While I was watching, I could not stop asking myself one question. What will happen to the future civilization on earth?

When I was taking my English studies, we have a subject called History of English, we did discussed about how the vikings raided England and such. In the series, the story starts around the early 8th century.

Now, we are in the 21st century and that was just few centuries back. Don’t you feel amazed on how centuries ago, civilization barely know each other and ready to put their swords and axes to each others neck. Now? We are google-ing our next vacation and ready to get there!

In just 1300 years later, we arrived in a modern world filled with advance technologies! Imagine that we still survived for the next 2000 years without major catastrophic events such as World Nuclear War or Armageddon, what do you think of the civilization at that time? Will they become so advance that when they look back at our technology, we look primitive to them? Like how we look at civilization 2000 years ago?

Hold you thoughts and answers. Keep reading….

Extra thoughts, we do have records and know how the ancient civilization looks like. The oldest civilization recorded was Ancient Mesopotamia in 3500 BC and that was like 5000 years ago. However, we still being fascinated about our findings on ancient civilization and there are  things that we did not understand about them and their inventions.

My question is, what if they achieved their technological peak in a different way that we know about? If our civilization can achieve this much in just 2000 years, what about them? Or the ones before them?

Do you think that ancient civilizations are ‘ancient’ and far from ‘modern’ as we are?

This is just something about civilization and other aspect that I want to share about is the religions showed in the series. Maybe next time!

P.S.: I like their theme song a lot! It is this one.
